I’m The Only Legal Wife Of Ojukwu, Bianca Tells Court

The trial in the ongoing legal battle between the widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, Bianca Ojukwu and his brothers over the family estate commenced yesterday before a Lagos state High Court sitting at Igbosere.

Mrs Ojukwu in her evidence in chief before Justice Abdulfattah Lawal, admitted that neither her nor her children are shareholders or directors in Ojukwu Transport Limited, OTL.

She also admitted that Ojukwu has eight children which includes the claimants, Afamefuna and Nwachukwu, adding that she is the only one that was legally married among Ojukwu’s wives, as she engaged in court, Church and traditional marriage.

Tears, Blood & Sorrow, As Woman Kills Eight With SUV

Tragedy struck on Ilaje Road, in the Bariga area of Lagos State, after a female motorist in a LandCruiser Sport Utility Vehicle crushed eight pedestrians to death. It was gathered that among the dead were a pregnant woman, two siblings, an old woman and a man returning from his place of work.

Several others were also said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries, including fractures and broken limbs in the Saturday incident which happened around 9pm.

Punch correspondents gathered that the driver of the yet-to-be-identified woman had left the vehicle for her near Majok Filling Station on Ilaje Road and had left for his house. The woman, said to be staying on Adebisi Street, had barely taken the wheels to drive the SUV home when the incident occurred.

The vehicle reportedly surged forward, crushing pedestrians and killing four of them on the spot.

A set of nine injured people were reportedly taken to the Gbagada General Hospital, among whom two died; while another set of seven casualties were later recovered.

EFCC Raids Former Vice President Namadi Sambo’s Office

After being on the list of those to be probed for arms purchase, and also being investigated for his role as the Chairman of the National Council on Privatisation in the former President Goodluck Jonathan administration, where he was the number 2 man of the Federation, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Saturday also raided an office complex belonging to Mr Sambo which is located near the National Defence College along Herbert Macaulay Way, and made away some documents although nobody was arrested.

Mr Sambo and his then direct boss are yet to be implicated in any crime, but then investigations are still on going.

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, has advised a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and two of his sons to return to Nigeria to answer the allegations of fraud levelled against them.

While Senator Obanikoro has been accused of helping the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, to rig the June 21, 2014 election, his sons, Gbolahan and Babajide, are being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly receiving N4.75bn from the Central Bank of Nigeria Imprest Account of the Office of the National Security Adviser under Sambo Dasuki between June 6, 2014 and December, 12, 2015.

Senator Obanikoro, who is a citizen of the United States, has since the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan relocated to the US, where he is currently studying History at Oglethorpe University in Georgia. His sons are also currently in the US.
